Before Watchmen is a series of comic books published by DC Comics in 2012. Acting as a prequel to the 1986 12-issue Watchmen limited series by writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons, the project will consist of eight limited series and one one-shot for a total of 37 issues.

Thirty years after Bruce Wayne was broken and failed to take back the mantle of the Bat, Jean-Paul Valley, now known as Saint Batman, has turned Gotham into the city of his dreams.

Joseph Merrick: The Elephantman fights the occult, in a Victorian comic book tale of gin joints, black magic and carnival freaks. Merrick: The Sensational Elephantman is a Victorian adventure/horror/cape gaslamp comic set in 1880s' London. Based on a fictional version of the life of Joseph Merrick, it steps between historical facts and turn of the century folklore juxtaposed with the American superhero comic conventions of super powers, masks, secret identities and fantastic adventures.
When Dr Crowe arrives in London to solve the murder of a police constable, he crosses paths with The Elephantman, who is on a mission of his own to find the missing children of Whitechapel.
Together they will fight for their lives to survive the night.
Taking place after MERRICK: THE SENSATIONAL ELEPHANTMAN #6 and DOCTOR CROWE #4 this new one-shot cross-over brings together the two iconic indie comic characters in a rip-roaring 1880's pulp adventure.
Accessible to fans of the individual series and new readers alike.
