Year of the Bastard (issues 13-18)
Spider Jerusalem begins to crumble under the pressure of fame and escapes into a world of bitterness and pills. Armed with only his demented mind, Spider embarks on an adventure of political cynicism, horrific sex and unwelcome celebrity with disastrous results.
The New Scum (issues 19-24)
Spider Jerusalem learns of the vicious murder of political consultant Vita Severn, one of the few people that he liked.
Lonely City (issues 25-30)
Continuing the acclaimed tale of the day-to-day trials and tribulations of Spider Jerusalem, this fifth installment has the no-holds-barred investigative reporter delving into the city's police corruption. Living in an anti-utopian future, Spider continues his quest to expose society's injustices as he focuses his attention on those sworn to protect and serve. History of the DC Universe is a two-issue comic book limited series created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, and published by DC Comics following the end of Crisis on Infinite Earths. It was an attempt to summarize the new history of the DC Universe to establish what was canonical after Crisis reformed the multiverse into a single universe. In the original planning of Crisis on Infinite Earths, the History would have formed the final two issues, following the destruction of the Multiverse at the Beginning of Time, but this was changed, presumably because it would have been a very undramatic ending to the series.

Demons! Vampires! Monsters! And in the middle of it all, one smart-mouth punk just trying to make a living. For Jonny Demon -- hellzoner, would-be sorcerer, and survival expert -- life means watching your back, keeping your blades sharp, and never going near the Returned Ones (the Ur-demons who destroyed civilization and ravaged the world).
