This is probably: Batman Vol. 01 - The Court of Owls (2011)
that continues with Batman Vol. 02 - The City of Owls (2013)

EDIT: Seems like it wasn't complete, so i'll keep reading.

This does not have an ending, so I don't know if it's been discontinued or what.

One day some extraterrestrial "trees" land on a few aparently random places over the Earth. 10 years after they have barely interacted with humans so people basically ignores them.

This follow the stories of a bunch of different characters near various Trees all over the globe.

Very good at getting a thrilling atmosphere. The art lacks of detail at some points but still has kind of a unique style.

Dialogues have topics on politcs, human social behaviour and sexuality freedom.

I found the FRENCH version of Episode 6 on the "alt.binaries.pictures.comic-strips" usenet group back in late October 2015 (useless since I'm only fluent in English) but at least it's out there and maybe someone will translate and post it (hint, hint!)

Nice art at some panels.

Story progresses losely at the begining. Issue #2 is crap, then gets better.

Overall: Not bad. Will give a try on vol 2 after all
