Comment #71 (28 August 2016 21:41) → Metronom' T1-T5 (2010-2015)
This may be a better summary:

Metronom '- Volume 1 - Zero tolerance
In the near future, in a population crushed by a draconian regime where even suicide is prohibited, a woman fights for truth and for its survival.

Lynn has no news of her husband since he left for a routine mission in space for 8 weeks. Besides her desire to know what happened, she fights to survive: the salary of her husband was cut since his disappearance! Despite the room omerta, she manages to pull some information to her sister serving in ministry: the mission was hit by a virus, it's back on earth but all participants are in quarantine. The story reaches the ears of a seditious, nosy and somewhat anarchist (therefore never published!) journalist and decides to investigate through his contacts. He manages to learn where time has a big role to play, but is quickly stopped on suspicion of having sent the president a subversive book about the dictatorship as a children's story, entitled METRONOM ' ?

The design and the colors are wonderful Grun to illustrate this stifling world where individuals, even deprived of hope, struggle to survive. A tetralogy of SF that evokes more than respectable references, as Brazil , Blade Runner and Total Recall , the novels of Philip K. Dick, the series SOS Bonheur Griffo and Van Hamme? a deserved filiation, since the great Enki Bilal wished to preface this first volume!

Comment #67 (21 August 2016 04:26) → Prophet #1-4 (2014) (Scanlation)
Ho boy, all these different titles of Prophet had me confused so I had to do some digging to sort it all out!

THIS TITLE - "Prophet 04 - De Profundis" in NOT part of the Prophet series by Image comics!

THIS TITLE - "Prophet 04 - De Profundis" is the last of a 4 part series of FRENCH comics of artist Mathieu Lauffray. Published by Humanoids Associates for the first three volumes. Then the series was bought in 2009 by a new publisher, Soleil Productions . This last volume took a long delay, appearing in 2014, nine years after the previous one!

Prophet 01 - Ante Genesem (September 2000, 48 pages)
Prophet 02 - Infernum in terra (December 2003, 54 pages)
Prophet 03 - Pater tenebrarum (November 2005, 56 pages)
Prophet 04 - De Profundis (April 2014, 52 pages)

Prophet tells the story of a scientist and archaeologist who by personal ambition, will discover the remains of an ancient civilization that should have remained unknown to men and thus find themselves in the heart of an unprecedented disaster (yup, another POST-Apocalyptic story, but with great illustrations!).

Lastly,
THIS TITLE - "Prophet 04 - De Profundis" happens to be the only one I have found that has been translated into English. If anybody has the first three volumes in English I would be ever so grateful should they magically appear here!

Comment #53 (12 June 2016 10:43) → Djinn v01-v13 (2015-2016) Complete
The Dargaud website describes the series as having 14 volumes. Does anybody have any info on those two issues described below?

SUMMARY DJINN VOLUME 0 [ Released 5 Dec 2014 / 46 pages ]
The writer Jean Dufaux wished his imagination wander into one of these places open to all fantasies: the legendary harem of Istanbul. To decipher codes, there is penetrated with the complicity of a woman, the designer Ana Miralles. One, by the words, and the other through images, trace the genesis and evolution of the fascinating Djinn series that resulted.
Istanbul. For the writer Jean Dufaux, the city had a culture of exceptional wealth and a fracture: the end of the powerful Ottoman Empire. This culture and fracture were in a space that is both secure and open to all fantasies: the harem. But make part of a database was to risk the lame clichés and mannerisms macho. The choice of a designer was needed. A feminine sensibility would keep some distance between the object and describes the sensations that this object could emerge.
When a happy combination of circumstances brought him into contact with the Spanish designer Ana Miralles, he knew immediately that it would be the ideal partner. Gradually, the sets were planted, the characters took shape and their adventures have developed. Kim Nelson, Jade, Lady and Lord Nelson ... Their history would be divided into two stages: two eras, two heroines, two sides of the same curse, the Djinn. In view of the first drawings, J.Dufaux Mirallès understood that Ana was found in Kim, in this energy that animates the young woman.
This magical encounter, this symbiosis, that wonderful chemistry between the author and the metteuse images, between about one and graphic visions that has offered the other a superb lavishly illustrated album of original sketches now realizes. It also sheds new light the complexity of relations between the actors of this disturbing series.
A revised edition of What is hidden, with a new cover and many new drawings.

DJINN SUMMARY VOLUME 100 [ Released 13 Nov 2009 / 48 pages ]
Africa completed cycle, the black pearl found and revealed the secrets of Nelson, Jean Dufaux and Ana Miralles can uncover what was hidden. Throughout the pages of this beautiful book, the designer reveals his sketches of Djinn, these sumptuous premises of boards and covers that are sensual charm of the series. Jean Dufaux [scriptwriter], meanwhile, invites the reader to accompany him on the paths of his thinking, his desires, as in distilling anecdotes, comic or tragic, techniques that punctuate the five albums of this steamy and wild cycle.

Comment #50 (2 June 2016 23:57) → Agito Cosmos 01-03 (2012-2019)
While I do often enjoy these translations I also find them maddening and frustrating. In the case of Agito Cosmos both of these volumes were originally released back in the 2012/2013 timeframe and there is NO THIRD VOLUME ANYWHERE IN SIGHT!

The second volume ends in a cliffhanger where several of the major characters inexplicably find themselves floating in an asteroid like space station staring down at a world that apparently is NOT their own!

Glenat, the company that originally published the series does NOT have a third volume but, strangely enough, still considers it an "ongoing series"! [ http://www.glenatbd.com/bd/agito-cosmos-tome-1-9782723484121.htm ]

Comment #49 (1 June 2016 05:59) → Rebetiko (2013)
Found a couple of summaries for this:

Rebetiko refers to the fusion of West and East, Greece and Asia Minor, in music. However, to General Metaxas, it is only a reminder of the Turkish influence on his country. The ruthless Greek dictator is determined to crack down on rebetis and their way of life, creating strict censorship. A small group of friends—Rebetiko musicians—wind their way through the Athenian backstreets, ouzeris, and market squares, dodging the police while settling disputes over hashish and women. With music at its heart, the narrative portrays a day in the life of the Rebetiko musicians in Athens in 1936.

In the mid-1930s, the Greek dictator Ioannis Metaxas’ censorship measures included a crackdown on rebetiko, a style of music that incorporated supposedly degenerate Turkish elements. This graphic novel by French cartoonist Prudhomme recounts a day and a night in the life of a group of rebetiko musicians as they stumble across Athens, gabbing in cafés, performing in clubs, and dodging the police. The hashish-fueled ramblings of the band members—based loosely on actual musicians—evoke the rock ’n’ roll lifestyle of a later generation. Prudhomme’s naturalistic drawings enhance the authenticity of the tale. However, his low-key visual style—along with a muted, almost monochromatic color scheme—fails to convey the excitement of the musical performances that lie at the crux of the story; a more expressive approach might have better served the material. Shortcomings aside, Rebetiko, the recipient of several prestigious awards at European graphic-novel festivals, is a convincing portrayal of the pressures and pleasures faced by artistic and political outsiders. --Gordon Flagg

SUMMARY - Orphan. Immigrant. Scrapper. Billionaire. Collabo. Resistant. Criminal for some, hero to others ... Joseph Joanovici was all that and more. From 2007 to 2012, Fabien Nury and Sylvain Vallée told the fate unconventional this character through a great historical saga, adored by critics and the public, rewarded with numerous awards - including the Best Series in Angoulême 2012 - and sold nearly one million copies.

The unmatched Fabien Nury made it explode his science scenario in the open. Sylvain Valley said it is like a master of modern clean lines. Its expressive and elegant style takes on yet another dimension in this new version entirely in black and white, a permanent game of contrasts, has further emphasize the ambiguous fate of Joseph Joanovici, constantly torn between shadow and light.

In addition to covering seven new illustrations were done by Sylvain Valley for the occasion to open the title page of the story and "chapters" corresponding to the series of albums. Available in small format, single print 10 000 copies and at an affordable price, this integral is the perfect gift year-end for comic strip fans, history buffs or simply beautiful designs.

Comment #43 (4 May 2016 04:04) → Golden City #1-14 (1999-2020)
Sigh... as much as I'd enjoy reading Vol 11 The Fugitives the French version was just published on 25nov2015. If the "speed" of the previous volumes being translated is any indication of how long we're going to wait... I'd say about two years if we're lucky!

(The French Vol 10 Low Earth Orbit was published in 20 Nov 2013 and the English version showed up here in Dec of 2015 -- 2 years later)

Comment #42 (2 May 2016 00:44) → Wunderwaffen #1-16 (2012-2020)
While I am enjoying the series I am wondering why there are 3 different versions of the first 4 volumes. Some volumes are broken into 2 parts of 26 pages each and some are the complete 52 page volume.

Originally published in French by Soleil, volume 9 is supposed to be released in June 2016.
(see: http://www.soleilprod.com/recherche.html?type=catalogue&q=wunderwaffen )

Is anyone else doing the translations on Volumes 5 thru 9?
